I was born in Sydney and raised in New Zealand and completed my Counselling and Psychotherapy training with the Human Development and Training Institute in Auckland, graduating in 2007.
Like any learning I have been distilling those teachings over the ensuing years and have added to them by completing many therapeutic courses, these include:
Completing basic and advanced training in EMDR, as well as Flash Technique, Attachment Informed EMDR and Intergenerational EMDR
Somatic Therapy with Babette Rothschild
Studying IFS and Parts Work
Attending workshops and conferences with top international complex trauma experts like Janina Fisher, Bessel van der Kolk, Pat Ogden, Peter Levine, Jamie Marich and many others
Recently I have begun to offer EMDR Intensives as an efficient way to work through a particular block of therapy.
In 2012 my passion for education in the field of complex trauma, lead me to start working with the Blue Knot Foundation and the Mental Health Coordinating Council of NSW. I now run a variety of trainings for the Blue Knot Foundation on topics like:
Trauma Awareness
Vicarious Trauma
Dissociation
The Three Phased Approach
Trauma Responsive Leadership
Caveat
I can't speak to all transgendered, nonbinary and gender expansive peoples experience
Or to all experiences of diverse sexuality and relationships, or all experiences of complex trauma and complex post traumatic stress.
I can only speak to what I know, to what I’ve studied and to what I've learned from working in this field for over 16 years. I learn continually from the people I work with.
